Liverpool’s centre-back Virgil van Dijk has won the PFA fans’ Player of the Month award for the second time this season.
The last time the Dutchman won the award was in November and he has now picked up the accolade for the month of February.
Van Dijk helped steer Jurgen Klopp’s side to three clean sheets in four games – only conceding one goal, to West Ham, in that time.
A brace scored in three minutes during the Reds 5-0 demolition of Watford rounded off an impressive month for the 27-year-old.
The Netherlands skipper saw off competition from title rivals Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte and Raheem Sterling as he came out on top over the Man City trio in the fans vote.
Van Dijk was imperious against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday and Liverpool fans will be hoping for a similar display next weekend as the Reds host Burnley.
Klopp’s team have kept 17 clean sheets in 30 Premier League games and will need more if they are to overthrow City at the top of the table.
