MANCHESTER UNITED fans have demanded Andreas Pereira starts on Wednesday against PSG.

Pereira netted as United battled back to beat Southampton 3-2 at Old Trafford.

It was a rare start for the Brazilian, who benefitted from a number of injuries in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.

The likes of Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera are all currently on the sidelines though it’s unclear if they will be back for the trip to Paris.

United head to the French capital in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash, already 2-0 down.

And after Pereira impressed against Southampton, fans want the midfielder to start against the Ligue 1 giants.

One wrote: “Pereira needs to start more often. What a f****** player man.”

A second posted: “Romelu, Andreas and Dalot need to start next game. Proving we have players who can do a job directly when needed to and help us in an injury crisis, Dalot and Pereira I wasn’t expecting to perform as well as they have but Lukaku should be doing this week in week out.”

Another added: “This is the Andreas Pereira we all fans were looking forward to… such a beautiful goal to start his goal tally in the Premier League. Onwards & Upwards only from here, @andrinhopereira”

And a fellow Manchester United fan wrote: “Pereira just earned that start v PSG, Lukaku had to score after them misses.”

And a fifth commented: “Andreas Pereira needs more run of matches. He’s going to come good. The manager Ole Solskjaer and Mike Phelan are fantastic at trusting Youth.”

Solskjaer had praised Pereira pre-match when explaining his team selection, with the Brazilian replacing Fred.

He said: “We wanted to go attacking with the three front men, Alexi, Rom and Marcus, Marcus is fit again.

“And Andreas did really well against Liverpool and was unlucky not to play against Palace.

“I thought Fred came through his first 15 minutes and then he improved as the game went on, but we have a game again on Wednesday.

“But it’s the energy of Andreas we wanted to get in.”
