Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing the Roma winger.
According to a report from Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, Arsenal are the only team to have tabled a concrete offer for Roma ace Cengiz Ünder, and Tottenham surely must act fast to beat their arch rivals to the Turkish ace’s signature.
Calcio Mercato claims that there are numerous clubs interested in signing the 21-year-old, including the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and Bayern Munich, but only the Gunners have made a firm bid – one believed to be worth €30 million (£26 million) that was subsequently rejected.
Spurs desperately need to freshen up their attacking options in the summer, with Fernando Llorente’s contract set to expire, and Christian Eriksen facing an extremely uncertain future in north London.
And Ünder would be just the ticket.
The Roma ace has been in fine form this season, chalking up six goals and nine assists in 25 appearances in all competitions thus far.
Ünder is predominantly a right winger, but he can play anywhere along the front-line, and he plays with a certain kind of energy and youthful exuberance that would make him ideally suited to Poch’s setup at Tottenham.
It seems as though the Turk will have plenty of options in the summer, but Spurs in particular would be a really attractive prospect for him.
And should Tottenham beat Arsenal to his signature, it would be made all the sweeter for Pochettino and the club’s fans.
